Sylvain Bruneau – L’Élosion Vieilles Vignes 2021 – Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil

(Organic) The wine shows a pale ruby purple colour. The nose is initially restrained, needs some air to open up, later offering nuances of red and black cherries, cherry compote, notes of black pepper, a touch of earthy minerality. The palate is fresh, juicy, very vivid, revealing notes of crunchy red cherries, cranberries and forest raspberries, a touch of iron and a hint of vanilla and balsamic. The tannins are assertive, slightly drying, need time to smoothen. The finish is succulent with an intense fruitiness and spiciness in the aftertaste.
