Sequoia Grove – Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Rutherford, Napa Valley

The nose is fine, relatively powerful and offers a small concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and fine notes of black tea associated with a hint of black pepper as well as fine notes of black plum. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well structured and offers a certain harmony, a small juiciness and a small minerality (in the background). On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, blackberry and touches of plum associated with discreet hints of raspberry (in the background) as well as touches of wood, mocha and a discreet hint of cola. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and persistence with notes of the dark chocolate powder and juicy blackberry.
