Santa Maria La Nave – Calmarossa 2014 – Etna Rosso

The nose is fruity, powerful and racy. It reveals notes of raspberry and cherry associated with a hint of balsamic, garrigue, volcanic rock, cassis, spice as well as a very discreet touch of undergrowth and cinnamon. The palate is fruity, gourmande, quite elegant, fluid and offers a racy minerality, an acid frame (in the background), fat, a good definition, a good volume, good precision as well as a certain harmony. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy raspberry, cherry and fine notes notes of cassis associated with a hint of plum, blackberry as well as fine notes of licorice, sweet spices (discreet) and minerality. Tannins are a bit firm. Good length.
