Sagrado – Vinhas Velhas 2009 – Douro

The nose is fruity, relatively concentrated and relatively rich. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, crushed cassis and a slight touch of Quetsche plum, strawberry, chocolate, zan as well as a hint of black tea and Cuben pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, supple and offers fat, an acid frame, juiciness as well as a beautiful definition. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry, juicy cassis, slight notes of crushed raspberry and slight hints of wild strawberry associated with small touch of chocolate, a hint a black tea, cardamom as well as a discreet hint of caramelized oak and an imperceptible hint of pepper in the background. Tannins are slightly dry. Good length. There is powerful in the aftertaste.
