Round Pond Estate – The Vow, Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 – Gravel Series – Rutherford, Napa Valley

The nose is fine, powerful, intense and delicate. It reveals notes of blackberry, black cherry and small notes of crushed black berries associated with touches of flowers (laurel, violet), spices as well as discreet hints of almond, Timut pepper and a very discreet / imperceptible hint of grove. The mouth is elegant, fruity, beautifully juicy, beautifully fine, precise and offers a small suavity, complexity, elegance, tension as well as a bit aerial side. Everything is in place. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry and juicy / ripe Gariguette strawberry associated with small / fine touches of blueberry, vanilla, biscuit, sweet spices, slight hints of caramelization as well as an imperceptible hint of black olive and flowers (in the background). Tannins are fine, elegant and supple. Good length. There is a hint of almond as well as discreet hints of dark chocolate on the persistence.
