Principe di Butera – Syrah 2017

Principe di Butera – Syrah 2017

The nose is aromatic, racy, elegant and offers power, intensity, emotion as well as gourmandize. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, ripe Boysen berry and small notes of bigarreau cherry associated with fine touches of very ripe small red fruits, very fine hints of liquorice, spices, Cuben pepper as well as a very discreet hint of violet, sense of the place, very discreet hints  of toasted/caramelization and an imperceptible hint of vanilla/toasted hazelnut. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, tension, a good definition, precision, finesse (but full of gourmandize) as well as a beautiful tannic structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe/fleshy cassis, ripe bigarreau cherry and small notes of small ripe red fruits (red berries, wild strawberry) associated with fine touches of liquorice, tonka bean, spices as well as a discreet hint of olivier and sense of the place. Tannins are elegant and very discreetly chewy. Good length and persistence with very discreet hints of toasted hazelnut. A beautiful wine !
