Poderi Moretti – Benedet 2011 – Roero Riserva

Poderi Moretti – Benedet 2011 – Roero Riserva

The nose is fruity, aromatic, elegant and offers power as well as generosity. It reveals notes of wild strawberry, fresh wild raspberry and small notes of cassis, elderberries combined with hints of olive tree, laurel, black olive, racy minerality, dry local forest soil as well as slight hints of spices. The wine needs to be served in carafe. The palate is fruity, elegant and offers juiciness / gourmandise, suavity, a beautiful structure as well as a small fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe/juicy redcurrant, ripe wild berries, Bigarreau cherry and wild raspberry combined with fine / discreet touches of spices, garrigue, fleshy black olive, sweet spices as well as a touch of nutmeg, tonka bean and an imperceptible hint of dry local forest. Tannins are fine and elegant. Fine chews on the persistence. Beautiful and gourmande persistence.
