Pavillon Rouge de Margaux  2016 – Margaux

Pavillon Rouge de Margaux  2016 – Margaux

The nose is fine, aromatic, concentrated, well-balanced and offers a beautiful density. It reveals notes of fresh/ripe blackberry and crushed wild strawberry associated with a hint of Cuben pepper, violet, terroir as well as discreet hints of red berries, spices and licorice. The palate is fruity, fine, fresh, tight, straight and offers a beautiful acid frame, a beautiful minerality, power (but all in finesse/balance), an acid frame, fat as well as tension. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, fresh/ripe raspberry and slight hints of fresh red berries associated with discreet toasted hints as well as very discreet hint of licorice, spices and a hint of gray pepper. Tannins are fine and polished. Good length and aromatic persistence. There is a slight woody note and a very discreet hint of hazelnut/caramelization on the persistence.
