Joseph Phelps – Quarter Moon Vineyard – Pinot Noir 2012 – Sonoma

Joseph Phelps – Quarter Moon Vineyard – Pinot Noir 2012 – Sonoma

(60% Quarter Moon Vineyard and 40% Pastorale Vineyard) The nose is fine and elegant. It reveals notes of cherry and violet associated with slight notes of plum, a touch of strawberry as well as small notes of spices, vanilla and toasty oak in the background. The mouth is elegant, fleshy, mineral, quite fat and offers a nice acid frame and a juiciness of the fruit. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of cherry and crushed strawberry associated with small touches of raspberry, cassis, blackberry and a few slight woody notes in the background. Good length, acidity on the finish and persistence.
