Jean Chartron – Clos de la Pucelle 2016 – Monopole – Puligny-Montrachet, Premier Cru

The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, (very) slightly tight and offers a fine juiciness as well as intensity / power. It reveals notes of crushed pear and small yellow fruits combined with small notes of quenette, quince, touches of crushed peach as well as a very discreet hint of spices and butter. The palate is fruity, juicy, beautifully elegant, delicate, gourmande, fine, aerial, precise and offers roundness, a fine tension, straightness as well as a fine acid frame (in the background). On the palate this wine expresses notes of crunchy vine peach, apple and small notes of lemon / citrus associated with fine touches of quince, juicy quenette, juicy kumquat as well as a very fine toasted hint, butter and toasted almond. Good length. Very fine chews on the persistence / aftertaste.
