Hillsborough Vineyards – Ruby 2012 – Virginia Red Table Wine

(50% Tannat, 30% Fer Servadou and 20% Petit Verdot) A complex, aromatic and charming wine. The nose revels notes of spice, black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry), cherry, strawberry, spices (chocolate, cedar) and cigar box. The palate is balanced, well structured and reveals a small acid frame. It includes aromas of black fruits (blackberry, black currant, black cherry), cherry, spices and slightly more chocolate and coffee. The palate is mineral, elegant and with a nice density. Long finish.
