DonnaFugata – Mille e una Notte Special Edition 2021 – DOC Sicilia

(The Leopard, Netflix) The nose is fruity, velvety, elegant, delicate, deep and offers a multi-layered/three-dimensional and graphene side. It reveals notes of ripe red fruits, bright blueberry and bright cherry combined with subtle toasted hints, cashew, salinity, and subtle hints of balsamic and toasted hazelnut. The palate is beautifully suave, fruity, mineral, elegant and offers energy as well as a tangy frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed blueberry, crushed strawberry, and small notes of crushed blackcurrant combined with touches of dried plum and hints of chocolate/cocoa nibs, toasted almond, spices, and vanilla. A lovely chewiness on the finish. Tannins are elegant, racy, and suave. A discreet hint of undergrowth is present in the background.
