Donnafugata – Mille e Una Notte 2018 – Sicilia DOC

The nose is elegant, complex and offers a nice power in finesse, a fine intensity as well as a complete quality. There are notes of nutmeg, blond tobacco and, more slightly, mocha, combined with fine touches of lily, cherry, plum blossom, wild plum, as well as a discreet hint of spice and an imperceptible, almost balsamic touch (in the background). The palate is elegant, well-balanced, finely balanced and offers delicacy as well as a fine acidic backbone. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cherry, crisp raspberry and more slightly tart/crisp plum combined with a touch of plum blossom as well as fine hints of olive, black olive, sense of place (local biotop) and a very discreet hint of mocha. Tannins are tightly wound and marked. Good length. A hint of positive bitterness in the background.
