Domaine Tourbillon – Vieilles Vignes 2015 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is fruity, elegant, well-managed, finely gourmand and offers a beautiful maturity and a fine concentration. It reveals notes of black cherry, juicy / ripe berries, blueberry and garrigue associated with small notes of wild strawberries, flowers, slight notes of cassis as well as hints of caramelized oak, cocoa, Bourbon vanilla and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, fat, straight, nicely suave, precise, gourmande, finely powerful and offers tension, a fine juiciness, a good definition, a fine concentration, a fine finesse, a mineral frame (racy minerality / terroir) as well as a good structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black cherry, cassis, crushed blueberry and slight notes of strawberry associated with touches of wild raspberry, licorice / zan, flowers as well as a subtle hint of olive / garrigue, sweet spices and very discreet woody hints. Good length and beautiful persistence. There are a hint of ripe Biagarreau cherry and a hint of ripe blackberry / cassis on the persistence.
