Domaine Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet 2018 – Croze-Hermitage

The nose is aromatic and offers power, a certain freshness as well as a good definition. It reveals notes of bigarreau cherry, bright red plum, small notes of bright blackberry associated with touches of small red frutis, zan, fresh violet, lily as well as hints of cuben pepper, sense of the place (local biotope), discreet hints of olive leaf and a subtle hint of cardamom. The palate is fruity, juicy, precise, elegant, racy and offers tension (full of finesse), precision, power, delicacy, deepness, a beautiful finesse of the grain, control as well as a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy red cherry, bright wild red berries, small notes of bright red plum associated with touches of violet, iris, rose, cherry stem, hints of zan, fresh nutmeg as well as a subtle/delicate hint of vanilla pod, chocolate, caramelization, dry sage and pepper (in the background). Tannins are precise, well-built and racy. Good length. There are fine hints of chocolate, caramelization, tobacco and hazelnut in the persistence.
