Domaine La Boutinière 2018 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is elegant, racy and offers a certain complexity as well as power. It reveals notes of sour cherry, dry blackberry, small notes of blueberry associated with small touches of fleshy/juicy raspberry, hints of fresh/juicy plum, violet as well as fine hints of liquorice stick, a very discreet hint of sense of the place and an imperceptible hint of mild tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, suavity, fat, a good definition as well as gourmandize and pulpiness/fleshiness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, blueberry, small notes of violet associated with touches of pulpy/fleshy raspberry, small red berries associated with hints of chocolate, dry mild tobacco and very fine hints of nutmeg/cardamom. Tannins are elegant, well-built and very discreetly chewy. Gourmandize on the finish/persistence.
