Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur, Vieilles Vignes 2021 – Nuits-Saint-Georges

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is precise and gourmand: it offers an expressive but subtle spicy side, as well as tangy and fresh fruity notes. We find in particular the aromas of strawberry, raspberry, fresh bigarreau cherry, roasted red cherry, cranberries, a fine floral touch (lily, cornflower, a hint of dried peony) and spicy (clove, white pepper, cumin). On the palate, the wine offers juiciness, a fine power of silky but structured tannins, as well as a certain roundness of fruit, which balances this structure. There is sapidity, a savory touch of roasted meat and smoke, associated with notes of sweet spices (white pepper, nutmeg, cloves) as well as a fresh and airy fruitiness (notes of strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, cranberries and red currants) and a floral bouquet (dried rose, lily, peony). The finish is persistent, with lively acidity, a slight bitterness and juicy red fruits.
