Domaine de Paleine 2019 – Saumur Puy – Notre – Dame

Domaine de Paleine 2019 – Saumur Puy – Notre – Dame

The wine has a bright ruby color. The nose is expressive and fragrant. It offers aromas of ripe and dried black fruits (wild blackberry, morello cherry, dried blackcurrant), raspberry and wild strawberry, as well as bright and pronounced floral notes. We find the aromas of violet, dried rose, lily, lily of the valley, as well as a touch of fresh tobacco, wet leaves in the background and a fine spiciness (licorice, white pepper, ground cumin), as well as a delicate touch of vanilla in the background. On the palate, the wine is structured and firm, with dry and grippy but fine tannins. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, wild blackberry and morello cherry, combined with floral touches of violet, dried rose and lily of the valley, as well as a spicy hint of nutmeg, licorice and cumin. The wine has a nice salivating acidity which balances the dryness of the tannins, but seems closed at the moment. Beautiful persistence on the palate, with sweet spices and black fruits.
