Domaine de Fontavin 2015 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is fruity, straight and offers freshness as well as a good structure. It reveals notes of flowers honey (hawthorn…), quince and yellow peach associated with subtle touches of jammy apricot, racy minerality / schist, vanilla, subtle toasted touches as well as an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice acid frame, a nice minerality, a fine unctuosity, a good structure, straightness, a good definition, a racy minerality as well as tension. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of crushed pear and ripe quince associated with slight touches of crushed apple, candied lemon, vanilla and slight toasted touches. Good length.
