Dartigalongue 2002 – Bas Armagnac

Dartigalongue 2002 – Bas Armagnac

(Bottled in : 10/2021. 46%) The nose is fine, complex, beautifully mastered and offers controlled power, a certain deepness as well as a stretched side. There are notes of rancio, faded rose petal and small notes of dried kumquat associated with small touches of dried lemon, dried apple as well as fine hints of spices, cedar, a subtle hint of carambola / lychee, discreet hints of toasted oak and an imperceptible hint of chocolate (in the background). The palate is fruity, elegant, delicate, complete and offers deepness, a small aerial side in its power, a very nice balance, precision as well as a nice substance and finesse in its richness / power. On the palate, this Armagnac expresses notes of jammy apple, crystallized mandarin and small notes of dried orange associated with touches of caramelization, toasted / roasted almond, rancio as well as hints of Bourbon vanilla, nutmeg, pepper and a subtle hint of almost exotic fruit on the persistence. Beautiful persistence. Congratulations, it’s a beautiful Armagnac !
