Clos Saint Jean 2011 – Champagne par José Michel – Blanc de Blancs – Brut

The nose is fruity and offers gourmandize as well as a fine creaminess. It reveals notes of lemon cream, juicy yellow peach and small notes of quince associated with fine hints of fresh mandarine as well as very discreet hints of fresh apricot. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful acidulous frame, suavity, roundness, tension, juiciness, minerality as well as gourmandize. The effervescence is fine, dynamic and offers a very fine creaminess. On the palate this Champagne expresses notes of ripe/juicy lemon, ripe/juicy yellow peach and small notes of juicy/ripe red apple associated with fine touches of juicy quince as well as a discreet hint of meringue, Mirabelle plum and almond/toasted oak (in the background). A beautiful juicy, mineral and gourmand champagne!
