Château Tour Maillet 2018 – Pomerol

The nose is aromatic and offers a small intensity, a small power as well as a fine grain. It reveals notes of fresh/juicy blackberry, juicy strawberry, small notes of fresh violet plum associated with touches of small red berries, lilac/fresh iris as well as a hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, minerality and a certain tension/straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy blackberry, juicy raspberry, small notes of small red berries, fresh plum, fresh cherry as well as fine hints of cardamom, tonka bean, crushed almond, toasted, a subtle hint of vanilla and pepper. Good length. Tannins are precise, very finely chewy. A very fine chew on the persistence. An imperceptible saline hint on the aftertaste.
