Château Saint-Georges Côte Pavie 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

Château Saint-Georges Côte Pavie 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant and reveals power with delicacy, depth and a certain controlled intensity. There are notes of pulpy blackcurrant, raspberry and, more lightly, pulpy/ripe berries combined with hints of violet/wildflowers, a hint of herbs/bergamot and a subtle hint of tonka bean and cinnamon. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, juiciness, elegance, richness, linearity, precision, a certain purity, concentration, some “infusion” character (on the mid-palate), freshness, a fine acidic spine and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright blackcurrant and more slightly blueberry combined with hints of wild red berries, hints of zan, nutmeg, discrete hints of graphite, sense of place as well as a subtle almost grassy aroma and discrete hints of vanilla. Good length. The tannins are well managed. Good work on positive bitterness.
