Château Penin, Les Cailloux 2021 – Bordeaux Supérieur

Château Penin, Les Cailloux 2021 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is fragrant, racy and precise. It offers a distinct mineral framework (gravels) associated with a beautiful herbaceous freshness and a refined sweetness of ripe fruit. We find notes of fresh morello cherry, red cherry juice, crushed raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, black plum, as well as fresh wild mint (see menthol), licorice, vanilla, cloves, as well as a touch of violet, cornflower and rosehip. The palate is tasty, enveloping and fresh, with energy and liveliness, thanks to a salivating acidity. We find flavors of fresh strawberry, red cherry, fresh red currant, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and black plum, as well as floral notes of violet, rose and cornflower. The tannins are fine and delicate, but well structured. The finish is persistent, delicious and fresh, with a subtle bitterness. Beautiful balance, gourmandise and elegance.
