Château Le Pape 2016  – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity and powerful. It reveals notes of cassis cream and small wild black berries associated with discreet hints of wild strawberry as well as very slight hints of grilled oak and an imperceptible hint of licorice. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, “clean”/precise and offers a nice fat, a slight minerality, a slight tension, a beautiful finesse as well as a slight creaminess. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry cream, cassis and a slight hint of Quetsche plum associated with slight notes of red fruits as well as discreet hints of dark chocolate, a hint of coffee and a discreet hint of cardamom/vanilla. Good length and good persistence.
