Château Lalande de Gravet 2021 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity and offers power, fine grain/racy/power. There are notes of pulpy blackcurrant, pulpy/ripe wild currant and more lightly of violet combined with fine hints of strawberry as well as hints of grey pepper, spice and a subtle hint of peony. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, sweetness, acidity, good definition, very discreetly tight minerality and tension. On the palate this wine expresses tart/juicy blackberry, juicy/acidic blackcurrant and more lightly violet plum notes combined with hints of red currant as well as fine peony, camphor, toastiness. A subtle hint of mocha on the finish/persistence. The tannins are supple.
