Château Jean Voisin 2020, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château Jean Voisin 2020, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

On the nose, fruity, elegant, sophisticated and offers a nice power (in finesse), intensity (in mastery) as well as a nice definition and a good finesse of the texture. It reveals notes of bursting blackcurrant, black berries and slightly camphor associated with touches of violet, wild currant quite ripe as well as hints of cherry, bright blueberry and a touch of gray pepper, a subtle touch of toast and cardamom. On the palate, fruity, balanced and offers darkness/depth, some density, minerality, fat, depth. The wine expresses notes of pulpy wild black currant, small pulpy/juicy black berries and more lightly fleshy/crushed raspberry combined with hints of camphor, tonka bean, cardamom as well as fine hints of pulpy blueberry, lily, a hint of tea and a discreet hint of toastiness/torrefaction. The tannins are mellow and well conducted.
