Château Jean Faure 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, well-built, structured and offers a small power. It reveals notes of crushed cassis, blackberry and small toasted notes associated with touches of fleshy red fruits, vanilla as well as very discreet hints of liquorice and cinnamon / cardamom. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built, precise, elegant and offers straightness, a good definition, a beautiful juiciness, a beautiful mineral frame as well as a small tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry and small notes of cassis associated with touches of raspberry, small ripe red berries/ redcurrants as well as hints of flowers, cardamom, tonka bean, sweet spices / vanilla. Tannins are fine, and very slightly chewy and well-built. Good length.
