Château Fonroque 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity and offers a small concentration and finesse. It reveals notes of cassis and wild small fruits associated with small touches of ripe cherry, crushed wild strawberry as well as discreet hints of liquorice, flowers, a very discreet hint of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of spices (in the background). The palate is juicy, fruity, well-balanced, silky, fine, beautifully gourmande and offers a good definition, a beautiful minerality, suavity as well as a good acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry and black cherry associated with small notes of crushed wild strawberry, crushed cassis as well as touches of violet, lily, liquorice and discreet hints of sweet spices. Tannins are fine and elegant. There is a very discreet hint of ripe seeds on the persistence.
