Château de Valois 2019 – Pomerol

Château de Valois 2019 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity, racy with a nice finesse, power and delicacy of the grain. There is some depth and a fine spiciness that accompanies a note of graphite. We also perceive ripe boysenberry, violet, juicy blackcurrant associated with touches of graphite, nutmeg as well as fine hints of fresh pepper. The palate is fruity with juiciness, minerality and a nice tangy frame. There is a good job on the bitters. There are notes of juicy and pulpy blackberries, cassis and small notes of fairly ripe purple plums associated with touches of graphite, cardamom as well as slight hints of fresh pepper and mocha. The tannins are supple, there is good length with minerality and freshness.
