Château Clos de Sarpe 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers fleshiness as well as gourmandize. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy/fresh casss and small notes of griotte associated with touches of fleshy/juicy blueberry as well as hints of violet/lilac, fine hints of liquorice stick and an imperceptible hint of fresh nutmeg (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, gourmandize, an acidulous frame, a fine freshness as well as tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/acidulous blackberry, fleshy/acidulous cassis and small notes of fleshy/acidulous red fruits associated with a touch of blueberry as well as fine hints of griotte, liquorice and very fine hints of toasted/caramelized. Tannins are well-built and elegant. Good length and good persistence (on ripe/acidulous fruit).
