Château Clarisse – Vieilles Vignes 2020 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

Château Clarisse – Vieilles Vignes 2020 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

The nose is fruity and offers depth, some spiciness and a fine, relatively intense grain. There are notes of blackcurrant, clove and slightly sour cherry combined with floral touches (iris, peony) as well as hints of star anise and a subtle touch of fresh sweet spices. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers minerality, freshness, good definition, a certain juiciness and a mineral framework. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/pulpy blackberry, crushed currant and more slightly pulpy cherry combined with hints of violet, liquorice as well as hints of caramelisation, vanilla and a subtle hint of toastiness/toasted almond. Good length. Nice freshness!
