Château Beychevelle 2014 – Saint-Julien, Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, aromatic, fine, racy and offers precision. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, wild strawberry and small notes of wild small fruits associated with fine touches of toasted, tea as well as very discreet hints of flowers (violet, cornflower), gravels (terroir) as well as a subtle hint of cardamom/pepper and a very discreet hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a mineral/acidulous frame, generosity/richiness, a good definition, precision, tension, a juicy/fresh fruit, freshness as well as a very discreetly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, fleshy/juicy raspberry and small notes of wild strawberry associated with fine touches of fleshy/juicy blueberry, fine hints of flowers, tea, sweet spices, a subtle hint of Timut pepper (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of underwood (in the background). Tannins are elegant, precise, structuring and offer a small straightness. Beautiful gourmande persistence !
