Château Barbanau – L’Instant 2021 – Côtes de Provence

40% Syrah, 60% Grenache

(Biodynamic) The wine shows a deep ruby colour with a brightening rim. The nose is open and exuberant, revealing gourmet nuances of blackberry and black currant jam, a touch of balsamic, nuances of sweet and pungent spices like black pepper and liquorice, a touch of bay leaf and Mediterranean scrub. The palate mirrors the nose with its intensity and concentration. The wine offers balanced acidity and bold, chalky, slightly rustic tannins. On the palate the notes of black fruits interlace gracefully with herbal notes of sage, rosemary and thyme. The finish is astringent, lingering with a distinct bitter note that should smoothen with age.
