Champagne Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 2012

Nice mousse. This Champagne has got a nice gold color. It is clear, limpid and shiny. The bubbles are quite fast. The strings are going up to create a pretty crown at the surface. The first nose is intense and aromatic with roasted almond, yellow cooked apple and citrus zest. It’s a complex Champagne. With air, there are nice citrus fruits aromas. It needs time to open. Salty biscuit, jasmine and salty butter are then appearing. The attack is fresh, tangy. There is a smooth and great texture. The cooked apple, fresh fig but also vanilla notes appear. Almond, hazelnut, lime zest, candied lemon but also calisson and autolysis come with finesse. The finish is soft, delicate with rose petal and the apple seed almond. It’s a complex Champagne which needs all your attention.
