Champagne Chassenay d’Arce, Pinot Blanc Extra Brut, 2012

Champagne Chassenay d’Arce, Pinot Blanc Extra Brut, 2012

The color of this Champagne is clear and shiny with a very light straw color. The nose is aromatic, mineral, almost smoky. We have vegetal, sappy notes with also touches of peach, muscat grape and pear. With air, we get notes of apple and juicy grapefruit. It’s fragrant, spring-like. The palate is fresh with a nice salivating acidity. We find fruits but also flowers. White peach, pear, muscat and juicy grapefruit. Fresh hazelnut also makes its entrance in the mid-palate with a slight astringency which gives fullness on the palate. There is always a very nice minerality with this pleasant fruit between the fruits of our orchards and exotic fruits from elsewhere. Pinot Blanc, a rare grape variety, is very well worked. A beautiful Champagne.
