Cellier d’Eguilles – Ophelie Rouge 2021 – Coteaux d’Aix en Provence

Cellier d’Eguilles – Ophelie Rouge 2021 – Coteaux d’Aix en Provence

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Grenache Noir, 11% Syrah

The wine shows a bright and youthful ruby colour. The nose is a bit shy, needs aeration, later opening up with nuances of blackberries and cassis, a touch of tobacco and green pepper, a hint of pungent spices. The palate is juicy and intense, with elevated acidity, good fruit concentration, a touch of bitterness on the finish. The wine opens up with ripe notes of black plums, red cherries, a touch of black currant leaf and black pepper. The tannins are bold but smooth and well-managed. Moderate length.
