Casaloste 2011 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is aromatic, gourmand, well-built and offers a very slight richness (in the background). It reveals notes of crushed boysenberry, crushed wild strawberry and small notes of redcurrant, black olive associated with slight touches of violet, garrigue as well as a subtle hint of sweet spices and vanilla (background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built and offers a juicy slight frame, a nice definition, a nice fat / suavity as well as precision and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy boysenberry, crushed Gariguette strawberry and slight notes of fleshy raspberry, cassis, olive associated with slight touches of mocha / dark chocolate, cardamom, garrigue and caramelized oak. Tannins are well-built. Good length. Gourmandise / suavity on the finish.
