Casa Emma 2012 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is relatively powerful and finely aromatic. It reveals notes of leather, pepper (Sichuan, a hint of gray pepper), blackberry and slight notes of plum jam combined with a touch of cassis and discreet toasted oak / vanilla. The palate is fruity, fleshy, well-balanced, relatively gourmande and offers a fine unctuosity, a freshness and a mineral frame. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry cream, crushed plum and slight notes of juicy red fruits combined with hints of discreet hints of licorice as well as hints of toasted wood, vanilla and a very discreet hint of coconut. Good length and good persistence. There is a slight acidity on the finish and a small suavity on the aftertaste.
