Cain Five 2015 – Spring Mountain District, Napa Valley

The nose is racy and offers power and a fine grain. It reveals notes of wild cassis, blackberry and small notes of iris, violet, tarweed associated with fine hints of liquorice stick, cardamom and a very discreet sappy hint. The mouth is fruity, fresh, well-balanced, elegant and offers a juicy/fresh frame, a small racy minerality as well as juicy/fleshy fruits. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy cassis, juicy/fleshy blackberry and small notes of small res fruits associated with small bleu fruits, cornflower, iris and tarweed as well as a subtle hint of tonka bean. Tannins are elegant and racy. Good length.
