Cagliero – Ravera 2008 – Barolo

The nose is fruity, very slightly tight and offers a fine freshness, a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as a small power. It reveals notes of blackberry, small wild berries and small notes of wild strawberry associated with touches of cornflower, gray pepper as well as very discreet hints of nutmeg and racy minerality. The palate is fruity, juicy, suave, gourmande and offers a beautiful definition, a good volume, a juicy / slightly acidulous frame, a racy minerality as well as harmony. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, ripe / juicy plum and small notes of very ripe blueberry associated with fine touches of ripe / juicy raspberry, hints of violet, cardamom of blond tobacco leaf, chocolate as well as subtle hints of nutmeg and dried almonds. Tannins are very fine and elegant. Good length.
