Alessandro di Camporeale – Kaid 2016, Syrah – Sicilia DOC

The nose is slightly tight and offers power as well as a fine richness. It reveals notes of cassis, cherry and small notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of black fruit, Sichuan pepper, black tea, chocolate as well as an imperceptible hint of caramelization. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, framed and offers a racy minerality, a good guideline, a fine tension as well as a juicy / acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of redcurrant, fleshy cassis and small notes of black plum associated with very discreet hints of fleshy raspberry, scrubland as well as a subtle hint of black olive and cocoa / roasted oak. Tannins are well-built.
