Weingut Jurtschitsch, Riesling – Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW Kamptal – 2021

The wine has a lemon-yellow color of medium intensity. The nose offers depth, ripe fruit and complexity. It expresses notes of ripe citrus fruits (yellow lemon, grapefruit), pineapple, white peach, tangy apricot, as well as slightly sweet notes of candied quince and citrus jam which add substance to the wine. There are also fine spicy (ground cumin, clove), toasted, herbaceous (green tea, hay) and floral (dried field flowers, rosehip, dried rose petals, apple blossom) notes, combined with a fine minerality (notes reminiscent of granite and slightly smoky in the background). On the palate, the wine offers a lively and chiseled acidulous structure, enveloped by a concentrated fruity substance, but fresh and elegant at the same time. The wine expresses notes of ripe and juicy stone fruits (white peach, apricot), fresh citrus (Meyer lemon, grapefruit, lime), kiwi, gooseberries, as well as fresh herbs (peppermint, cut grass), white flowers, as well as a delicate minerality on the finish (slightly smoky) and a good bitterness. The finish is straight, chiseled and tangy. It expresses slightly bitter fresh citrus notes (lime zest, grapefruit) and sharp acidity. A wine with complexity and good energy.
