Weingut Forstreiter, Grüner Veltliner Trockenbeerenauslese – Niederösterreich – 2021

The wine has a golden color of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic and concentrated. It expresses a pronounced spicy notes (white pepper, nutmeg), associated with fresh fruity notes (fresh golden apple, very ripe fresh yellow peach, ripe fresh apricot), notes of candied and dried fruit (candied apple, dried apricot ), candied lemon peel and white flowers (dried field flowers, acacia) and a herbal hint in the background. On the palate, the wine offers concentration, depth and a good balance. It expresses spicy notes of white pepper, combined with a touch of star anise, as well as flavors of fruit in syrup (anas in syrup, peach in syrup), candied orange peel, bitter orange jam, lime jam, dried apricot, and a touch of vanilla in the background. The finish is very long, with good bitterness and lively and salivating acidity, enough fresh to balance the sweetness and richness of the wine. A very rich wine, with depth, complexity and good balance.
