Vieira de Sousa – LBV 2012 – Porto

(bottled in 2016) The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant and offers straightness. It reveals notes of raspberry and ripe/fresh fig associated with fine touches of crushed cassis as well as a hint of orange, apricot and a very discreet hint of grove. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, slightly gourmande and offers a fine suavity, a fine juiciness, a beautiful precision and an acid frame. On the palate this Porto expresses notes of raspberry, fleshy cherry and cherry in Kirsh associated with touches of raspberry, crystallized mandarin, fine hints of cassis jam, grove as well as slight / discreet touches of biscuit / chocolate, wood and an imperceptible touch of eucalyptus. Tannins are fine and very slightly dusty. Good length. Beautiful potential!
