Viberti Giovanni – Bricco delle Viole 2011, Riserva – Barolo

The nose is elegant, aromatic, racy and offers gourmandize, power. intensity as well as a small complexity. This wine should be decanted. It reveals notes of plum and wild raspberry associated with touches of red strawberry, flowers, small blue berries as well as discreet hints of liquorice and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced, elegant, well-built, very finely tight and offers a beautiful definition, juiciness, a fine freshness, precision, a fine tension as well as a beautiful structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of plum, bigarreau cherry and small notes of wild raspberry associated with touches of flowers (rose, lilac), fine hints of toasted, tonka bean, zan, discreet hints of nutmeg/sweet spices (in the background) as well as a very discreet hint of toasted almond and cocoa. Tannins are elegant and very finely firm. The persistence is gourmand. Fine chew on the finish/persistence.
