Vérité – La Muse 2013 – Sonoma

The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers power, a slight intensity, complexity as well as minerality. The wine needs to be put in carafe. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, cassis and slight notes of fleshy redcurrant, blue fruits associated with slight touches of chocolate, soil as well as slight notes of spices, a subtle hint of grove (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, straight, very elegant, slightly fleshy, a bit tight and offers a slight gourmandise, a nice balance, density, juiciness, a beautiful definition, suavity, power (but full of delicacy), fleshiness, a slight acid frame, depthness as well as a beautiful, ample and velvety matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, cassis, slight touches of plum associated with slight hints of raspberry fleshy, juicy red berries, slight hints of toasted oak, dark chocolate as well as a subtle hint of sweet spices and cardamom. Tannins are fine and very slightly grainy. Good length.
