Vasques de Carvalho – 2018, Reserva – Douro 

The nose is fruity and offers a small straightness, a small concentration as well as structure. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, sour cherry and small notes of wild red berry / raspberry associated with touches of cornflowers / violets, Zan, black olive as well as a very discreet hint of local vegetation, Cuben pepper, eucalyptus, chocolate, nutmeg and clove. The palate is fruity, mineral, fresh, well-balanced and offers roundness, precision, structure, a small concentration as well as a small acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and small notes of cherry associated with touches of ripe wild red fruits, licorice / blueberry, chocolate, toasted touches and clove / mushroom. Tannins are well-built and structuring.
