Tessa, Brolo delle Giare 2013 Riserva – Amarone della Valpolicella

The nose is fruity, racy, very discreetly tight and offers a small concentration as well as deepness. It reveals notes of small black berries, cooked cassis, small notes of Cuben pepper associated with touches of spices, cooked blueberry as well as hints of fresh local grove, crushed strawberry as well as very hints of tobacco (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of rosemary. The palate is fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers a fine tension, juiciness, an acidulous frame as well as minerality, a fine suavity and a small gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, cooked cassis, small notes of fresh strawberry associated with touches of violet as well as hints of cooked black plum, a racy minerality, cedar wood, mild tobacco as well as discreet hints of spices, sense of the place, laurel and a very discreet hint of vanilla pod. Good length. A persistence on notes of cocoa and dark chocolate.
