Tenuta Il Quinto – GuardoAlto 2018 – Toscana IGT

The nose is fruity and offers elegance, gourmandize, finesse as well as power. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, Bigarreau cherry and small notes of juicy/fleshy red fruits associated with a hint of violet, garrigue/sens of the place, juicy blueberry, fine hints of Cuben pepper as well as a subtle hint of nutmef and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a mineral frame, juiciness, minerality, tension/straightness, precision, fullness as well as a good and very discreetly tight structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, fleshy/juicy Bigarreau cherry and small notes of blueberry associated with fine touches of lqiuorice, nutmeg/cardamom, black olive as well as an imperceptible hint of sens of the place (in the background). Tannins are fine, elegant and well-built. There is an imperceptible hint of ripe almond and toasted/caramelization on the persistence.
